Another quarter of the fiscal year has passed, meaning the Ontario Lottery and gaming company is now sharing casino revenue with the host community. For the quarter from January 1, 2023 to March 31, 2023, the city of Niagara Falls reportedly received a total of CA$3.93 million for hosting two provincial casinos.
Through the municipal contribution agreement, Ontario is obliged to distribute a portion of its casino revenue to municipalities that house physical gaming facilities. Remuneration is calculated using a formula that is uniformly implemented in all local game facilities and incorporates a progressive system of game revenue for each place.
In a press release, OLG announced that it had sent C$28,753,394 of game payments to 29 communities hosting game facilities during the fourth quarter of fiscal 2022-23. Niagara Falls City pocketed about CA$3.93 million in the fourth quarter to attract Crown Company’s Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara to the city.
For the fiscal year ended March 31, 2023, Crown Agency donated approximately CA$19.9 million to host the two casinos. Since the opening of the city’s first casino, Casino Niagara, in December 1996, the city has now received a total gambling allocation of C$194.9 million that powers the local economy and activates local vaults.
Not long ago, Ontario Finance Minister Peter Betlenfalby commented that OLG’s local government donation agreements and allocations are building strong communities for people and families to enjoy high quality of life. According to him, the proceeds support local programs and important infrastructure, while also making real changes to local governments that host them.
Meanwhile, OLG shared that it is pleased to contribute to economic recovery, infrastructure development and job creation by sharing the revenue from casino operations with the community. It also reminded us that 100% of the revenue would be reinvested in Ontario and that allocation to host communities would be part of this commitment. 안전한 파워볼사이트
In addition to sharing game revenue, OLG is organizing many events to help Ontarian. It was recently announced on April 26, 2023 that it will be hosting the Baawatting Career Expo with a community partner in Kamig, Kinoma, Singauk. Held Wednesday, April 26, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., it opens with a special drumming and smudging events.
This month, Crown Corporation also reported a total donation of C$91,132 to six basketball organizations in the region with the Toronto Raptors. As part of the plan, OLG and the team made donations on the Toronto Raptors app from March 23 to April 6, 2023, whenever users played free Burrow Ballers games.
