Empire City Casino Supports Local Non-Profits

Last week, Yonkers’ Empire City Casino once again demonstrated its social responsibility for the local economy. MGM Resorts’ casino donated more than US$102,000 to eight local nonprofit organizations through its employee and guest-funded Community Grants Program. And some beneficiaries include Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of New York, the Greyston Foundation, the Yonkers Family YMCA, and Feeding Westchester.

According to MGM Resorts, the grants were sanctioned by organizations that provide important services at the heart of the company’s philanthropic sphere. This includes food and security programs and educational programs that deliver nutritious meals. One of this year’s new plans is a homeless program that will try to deal with the problem in the area.

The Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York are among those receiving donations worth US$10,000. The group will use the money to fund mobile foot pantries targeting local food deserts. Yonkers Family YMCA has also received a US$10,000 grant that will be used to expand its hot meal program in the region.

Feeding Westchester also received a US$10,000 donation, which will be used to strengthen its food recovery plan. Meanwhile, United Way of Westchester & Putnam or UWWP received two grants. One of the grants worth US$10,000 went to the Education United program and the Summer Learning program, while the remaining US$12,000 was sent to launch a new program focused on preventing youth violence.

The Greyston Foundation has also been allocated US$10,000 in donations to help support its workforce education and training programs. It provides vocational courses designed to place individuals in permanent jobs in high-demand sectors. A second US$10,000 grant was sent to a Catholic charity to support Yonkers’s workforce development program.

In addition, a US$10,000 grant was allocated to VISION/Services for the Blind and Visual Impaired, which provides free services for the visually impaired. Finally, Bronx Works received US$10,000 to support its workforce development program, while Westchester’s Guidance Center also received US$10,000 to fund furniture apartments for individuals serviced by the program.

Empire City Casino also seeks to expand its gaming business by applying for one of three full casino licenses in northern New York. Not long ago, MGM Resorts CEO and President William Hornbuckle mentioned that the company is looking to expand its Yongkus Amenity by investing a serious cash injection. One of the ideas is to launch a badly needed parking lot. 프라그마틱 슬롯 사이트

Currently, casinos are considered preferred as one of the licenses, as many industry experts predict that casinos are fixed as one. The property has previously received support from “certain bets for the future of New York,” which organized rallies in casinos to show support for it and talk about the potential benefits of expansion.
